Location is perfect for day walks to shops and a restaurant is also walking distance. Very clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and willing to take the time to explain the community ammenities. I would most definately stay there again. The place is old and needs some minor plumbing work although everything works well for a weekend trip.
The shower did spray up in places although the pressure is good. Overall the motel is very nice!
Very clean hotel that's convenient to the interstate and the historic district. The rooms were well maintained, and I really liked being able to park right in front of my room. I'll be sure to stay there again if I am in Albuquerque. I've already recommended it to a couple of my friends.
Location. Attention to detail especially cleanliness and decor. Good laundry etc. Even had a ceiling fan to allow non usage of air conditioning overnight. Very helpfull about local facilities. Good place to stay.
Lack of breakfast facilities
We enjoyed staying at the Monterey Non Smokers Motel Old Town because the staff was great, the location was perfect and we were very comfortable there. If we go back to Albuquerque, nm again, we would definitely stay at the same motel again.
neon sign, friendly owners, cute dog
was perfectly adequate
I enjoyed the hospitality, responsiveness to concerns expressed (unable to get the TV on for the Olympics), and helpfulness with information about Old Town and dining. My room was clean and I had everything I needed.
I was a bit concerned being single woman about walking to Old Town down the busy street to Old Town - however I made sure I went during daylight and experienced no problems.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and it was close to Old Town Albuquerque and the museums.
clean and confortable with frig. WiFi, walking distance to Old Town, no complimentary breakfast, coffee make in room
in a poor area but all was OK, no problems
I was on a solo trip with lots of driving (2000+miles) crammed into just a few days. The night I was to arrive I was driving from Grand Canyon (about 8 hours away), leaving that afternoon and was concerned that I'd get there after the front desk closed, since most "mom and pop" motels don't have 24 check-in. So I called the motel and spoke to the husband and told him that I'd be arriving late and he said not to worry, just be here by midnight. Unfortunately, I had to drive though an awful rainstorm on my way there, at night on a dark highway, and it slowed me down. Plus, I didn't realize that Albuquerque's time zone was an hour ahead of Arizona's, so when I pulled in at what I thought was a little after 11pm, it was really after midnight. The wife was waiting for me and she was so very helpful with local and travel information, and never said anything about the time. I didn't realize what time it actually was until I checked my cell phone. As a single woman traveling alone, I felt well taken care of by this couple, and that meant a lot.
I love the style of the rooms, the "old Highway 66" feel of everything. Yet everything is clean and in excellent shape. The room was lovely and the bathroom spotless and very functional. The Wifi is highspeed and without any problems. The owners/managers are lovely people, very friendly and helpful in every way.
Nothing to complain about.
